The Explore Design convention is a fair to promote education in design-related fields to high school students. Waterloo Architecture’s exhibition booth was a two-part industrial design elective project.
For the first part, students submitted a proposal while staying within strict budget and construction restraints. The jury consisting of the school director, administration and marketing representative, workshop supervisor and class instructor chose my scheme as the winning scheme to be the focus of the project’s second part.
The whole class then worked on my scheme to improve the design and prepared construction details, budget reports, and created a partial 1:1 prototype of the booth. The booth was later assembled by the workshop supervisor and a separate team, and was transported to the Convention Centre for the two days of the exhibition.
